- Face stamp reads 正本山合砥 最高級品 (Shōhonyama Awasedo, Highest Grade) with 京都特産 (Kyoto special product) — the shōhonyama and grade designations are stamp-confirmed, though this classification covers several mines and does not itself confirm a specific one.
- A handwritten "30" appears near the stamp; its meaning is not confirmed.
- The reverse side shows a crack line, mineral streaking, and minor surface loss near one corner — this does not affect the working face.

Everything we carry comes from the personal collection of Ken Schwartz — the sharpener behind Precise Sharpening, who built the Nubatama line and gathered the naturals that sat beside it on his bench. The synthetics are new and unused. The naturals were his.
