Notes

  • The stone is stamped 水本原合砰 (Mizukihara Awasedo) directly on its face, alongside the standard 田中砰石 (Tanaka Toishi) dealer stamp.
  • Ken Schwartz's handwriting on the original box, dated 4/17/19, reads "Mizukihara (Ohira) — share with Ohirayama."

Condition

  • Stone: Sides are lacquered. Very shallow scratches are present on the face.
  • Please review the pictures of this stone prior to purchase. Make sure to closely check the raking light photograph to examine the features of the working face. When in doubt, contact Pacific Waterstone.

Everything we carry comes from the personal collection of Ken Schwartz — the sharpener behind Precise Sharpening, who built the Nubatama line and gathered the naturals that sat beside it on his bench. The synthetics are new and unused. The naturals were his.
