Notes
- The working face is clean and unmarked. The reverse side shows dense natural veining across most of its surface — a striking contrast between the two faces, but it's not the side used for sharpening.
- The stone carries a printed Tanaka Toishi lot number, "No. 22109" — an inventory number, not a mine identifier.
- Ken Schwartz's handwriting on the original bag label reads "Hideryama Tomae."
Condition
- Stone: Working face is clean, flat, and free of cracks or chips. A small edge chip is present on one corner, away from the working face. The reverse face shows extensive dark veining/natural strata lines across most of its surface — cosmetic, on the non-working side.
- Please review the pictures of this stone prior to purchase. Make sure to closely check the raking light photograph to examine the features of the working face. When in doubt, contact Pacific Waterstone.

Provenance
Everything we carry comes from the personal collection of Ken Schwartz — the sharpener behind Precise Sharpening, who built the Nubatama line and gathered the naturals that sat beside it on his bench. The synthetics are new and unused. The naturals were his.
